New guidance for private tutors in the UK

Compiled in consultation with experienced tutors, the free advice page covers the main areas of concern for private tutors. These include personal safety, working with children and young people, obtaining a DBS certificate, paying tax and ethical tutoring. Other areas of increasing relevance to tutors include staying safe online, online tuition and efficient payment methods.

Since 2009, The Tutor Pages has also published its acclaimed free e-book for private tutors, which has featured in the Times Educational Supplement. As well as providing more in-depth guidance, this resource also goes into great detail about effective one-to-one teaching.

The Tutor Pages is an award-winning online hub for private tutoring in the UK, and includes a directory of private tutors. Academic, language and music tutors are listed, as well as those teaching professional subjects such as accountancy, law and computer programming.
