European Schoolbooks brings you language-teaching books, games and magazines from the best educational publishers in continental Europe.
Why Europe?
We believe that it is good to learn a European language from publishers who live and work in the target culture. These publishers know trends in their language and culture intimately, they specialize in teaching their language and culture, and their materials are developed for – and tested by – language teachers and students throughout the world.
CEFR
Most of our publishers grade their materials according to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. If your students want to study or work abroad, or to use languages in their work in the UK, it will help them if they can advertise their level of ability according to a standard that is recognised throughout Europe. Choosing the right materials is also easier if course books, grammars, graded readers and other materials have a consistent grading system.
Course books, grammars and graded readers?
Yes. We offer a large range of textbooks, grammars, graded readers, dictionaries, GCSE and A Level set texts, study guides, themed book collections, non-fiction and fiction (including picture books, children’s fiction, young adult books, classic fiction and contemporary fiction). We also offer books for CLIL, including authentic European school books for teaching other subjects in the target language.
Which languages?
We offer teaching materials for all European languages and for many non-European languages. We specialize in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and Portuguese. We have native and graduate speakers of these languages on our staff.
Impartial advice
We understand that every school’s need is unique and that each school will need different materials. For this reason, we offer a wide range of materials, and we never prefer one publisher’s materials to another. If your school has a specific need, we are happy to advise you on the most suitable materials for you.
