You probably know that the European Bookshop and Italian Bookshop offer books for linguists and native speakers of French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Russian. But did you know that the bookshops also host events?

Events include author interviews and book signings, book presentations and creative-writing courses.  So, if you love books and European languages, keep an eye on the events programme on the website and do register to attend.  In the weeks ahead the shop is offering:

  • a conversation between author and journalist Attilio Bolzoni and Professor of Modern Italian at UCL John Dickie on the subject of the Italian mafia and of Mr Bolzoni’s book Il padrino dell’antimafia
  • a discussion between wine producer, actor, writer, radio and television presenter Fabio Canino and cartoonist and animator Massimo Fenati about Mr Canino’s novel Le parole che mancano al cuore
  • the launch by Nicholas Jacobs of his new translation of The Marquise of O – by Heinrich von Kleist
  • a creative-writing course with Marco Mancassola.

Events are held at the European Bookshop and Italian Bookshop, 123 Gloucester Road, London SW7 4TE.

The bookshop will also be taking part in the Festival of Italian Literature and the London Spanish Book Fair. Do come and join us!

If you have not visited an event at the bookshop before, you might like to watch this short video with an author and an illustrator at the shop.

The European Bookshop and Italian Bookshop are owned by European Schoolbooks Limited.
