Run by SOAS, University of London, the Languages Challenge is now in its fourth year.

The Languages Challenge is a co-curricular project aimed at supporting students in Years 8 to 10 develop independent and collaborative learning skills in language studies.

In that sense it is unique. The Challenge’s focus on language skills and cultural awareness is very special. But that is not all. The Languages Challenge also asks students to be creative.

As part of the Challenge, students work in teams to complete five out of nine provided tasks. Role descriptions are provided to ensure all students have a chance to lead the team complete one of the tasks. A success criteria is also provided to encourage young people to produce multiple drafts.
