Language World 1999 “Raising Standards” revisited the University of York, 26-28 March 1999.
ALL President Peter Downes explained: “(this) is an opportunity for classroom teachers… to refresh themselves with good ideas’.
Plenary speakers were: Ralph Tabberer, Senior Educational Adviser, Standards and Effectiveness Unit, DfEE; Aln Moys, Secretary to the Inquiry and President of the National Association of Language Advisers (NALA); and Chris Maynard, Principal Subject Officer for MFL, QCA.
