A summary of Languages Today magazine content in 2017 -18.

Autumn 2017

Our Autumn 2017 issue was all about Multilingualism.

Shared Voices – The power of multilingualism to bring people together featured ideas about teaching multilingual pupils, multilingual debating and growing up in a multilingual family.  As an NQT, September can be an exciting but daunting time of year, so this issue also contained three pages of helpful tips and ideas to best thrive (and survive) as an NQT.

Spring 2018

Our Spring 2018 issue was all about speaking.

How do we encourage pupils to feel confident when speaking in the target language? That’s one of the big questions we asked in this issue of Languages Today, Time to Talk – How to encourage confident speaking in the classroom. It included articles exploring how to encourage more assured autonomous speakers, including preparing students for the A Level speaking exam and the digital technology that can aid speaking in the classroom.

Summer 2018

Our Summer 2018 issue was all about writing.

In this issue of Languages Today, Word Power – Innovative ideas to capture the imagination, we shared a plethora of ways to encourage pupils to not only write, but to enjoy writing. This included articles on how to equip students to write creatively and succeed in the new GCSE by using football as a hook as well as ideas for a whole-school poetry competition to inspire pupils to try something new by reading and writing poems.
