The Association for Language Learning (ALL) welcomes the confirmation that the UK will continue to contribute to the success of the Erasmus student scheme in this EU budget cycle (until 2020).

René Koglbauer, Chair of the Board of Trustees, commented by highlighting the importance of this scheme for languages in general and the school sector:
“Many of our members, their institutions, students and pupils have over the years benefited from the Erasmus student scheme in manifold ways. The continued extension for the UK ensures that over the next three years, UK students will gain important life skills and intercultural experiences by living in and exploring different countries and cultures.”
“At the same time we urge the government to make every effort in their negotiations with the European Union to secure a continuation of the UK’s participation in this scheme well beyond 2020.”
