GCSE results day
ALL would like to congratulate students across the country who got their GCSE results in languages today – and the teachers who helped them to get there. Achievement at GCSE is high and although there are questions to be asked about the grading of languages in comparison with other subjects, the standards that students achieve (with over 70% on average in French, German and Spanish getting A*-C) is impressive.
We hope that students who have done well at GCSE today will continue their language learning to AS and A2 and put themselves in prime position to benefit from the educational advantage and social mobility that speaking another language well brings.
