This year’s Routes into Languages East Mother Tongue Other Tongue poetry competition is now open.
It is aimed at encouraging school students whose first language wasn’t English to share their Mother Tongue by remembering or creating poetry written in their ‘Mother Tongue’ and for pupils learning an ‘Other Tongue’ (a new language) to be creative in that language by writing an original poem.
Open to schools in the East of England (this year, for the first time it is open to primary schools too (Years 5 and 6). Sponsored by Multilingualism: Empowering Individuals, Transforming Societies. Closing date 20th July. See more details here .
