The Association for Language Learning is delighted to announce that its call for submissions for talks and workshops is now open for Language World 2018.
Language World 2018 will take place at Jurys Inn, Hinckley Island, Leicestershire, from 23-24 March 2018. It is a two-day conference and the CPD highlight of the year for the language teaching community.
It boasts a full programme of plenaries, talks and workshops and a fantastic exhibition with many delegates and exhibitors returning year after year and new delegates are made particulary welcome too!
Language World is the success that it is, because of the quality of our conference programme.

This conference offers a fantastic opportunity for members and other language practitioners and academics. A fantastic way to raise your own profile and develop your skills as a presenter or trainer with a positive and supportive audience from your own subject community. We are looking for a programme which focuses on successful classroom practice, action research, academic research and innovation. We are also interested in hearing about any collaborative partnerships across sectors.

• Managing learner progress in the classroom and beyond, including independent homework activities
• Using schemes of work to make the most of curriculum time
• Encouraging a passion for grammar
• Promoting languages across the curriculum, including CLIL
• Engaging and raising aspirations for more able learners
• Inspiring learners with SEND in the languages classroom
• Leading effective MFL provision in primary and secondary schools
• Planning for progression and transition: KS2-3, KS3-4, KS4-5, KS5-HE
• Meeting the challenges of bilingual learners in schools
• Maximising progress in listening, reading, writing and speaking skills
• Focusing on skills of the linguist e.g. translation, phonetic awareness, memorisation
• Ensuring positive assessment outcomes for learners at all stages, including GCSE and A level
• Sharing intercultural understanding through authentic texts, film and literature
• Using technology to enhance MFL teaching and learning
• Nurturing MFL teachers at all stages of the profession
• Convincing school leaders and the wider community of the importance of languages in a post-Brexit era

Please submit your proposal by Monday 30 October, 17:00.
ALL will confirm if your paper has been submitted into the 2018 programme on or around Friday 17 November.
The published conference programme will go live on Thursday 23 November.
Early Bird Delegate Booking
Early bird delegate booking is now open and runs for 15 weeks until Wednesday 20 December. Standard booking then opens up to the event itself.
