ALL as an educational charity exists to support the teaching and learning of all natural languages, and one aspect of our work is to raise the profile of languages through our advocacy, publications, events and website. The Association believes that all languages are intrinsically valuable and interesting and that teachers of different languages have common aspirations and principles, and approaches worth sharing. Of course individual members of ALL are also champions of the individual language, or languages, and cultures they love. The Association tries to avoid ‘favouritism’ to specific languages but reflects the needs of members by targeting support for the languages most commonly taught by our members.

Future issues of our member publication magazine Languages Today will feature our support for individual languages as part of ‘The Last Word’ feature.  If you have a suggestion about any activity or resource to promote the language you are most attached to, please let us know and we will try to put you in touch with others sharing your passion!
