Would you like to see your school recognised for originality and inspiration in language teaching and learning by being the next winner of the Threlford Cup?
The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) awards the Threlford Cup annually to an individual, organisation or project that has encouraged others in language learning. The winner is chosen from nominations, and you may either nominate yourself or your school, nominate someone else, or ask someone to nominate you.
If you are a languages teacher who has inspired young minds, if you would like to nominate a colleague who has done something amazing for language learning, or you know of someone who has worked hard within the local community to keep alive a heritage language and culture, we would love to hear from you. The award has attracted a variety of outstanding winners in recent years:
- 2015 – the European Master’s in Translation project
- 2014 – the GCHQ Language Outreach Programme for Schools
- 2013 – the website thirdyearabroad.com
This year we would like to celebrate the achievements of a school and present the award to someone who has gone the extra mile to encourage language learning. Just download the nomination form here and return it to [email protected] by Friday 29 July 2016.
Please help us spread the word by forwarding this email to your colleagues and networks.
The Threlford Cup will be presented to the winner by HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO at our awards evening in central London on Monday 14 November 2016.
If you have any queries about making a nomination, contact Debbie Butler, Communications Manager at CIOL on [email protected].
