Grammar
How to approach the teaching of grammar in Languages has been debated for many decades. Let’s not imagine there is a definitive answer to this. Much depends on the skill of the individual teacher, the learners and the classroom dynamic. But this is an aspect of languages teaching very close to my heart. There is a debate still to continue about whether form comes before function but access to grammar should not be part of the debate. The reading below gives some ideas for approaching the teaching of grammar in secondary classrooms.
